Children’s Books Exhibition

Nearly half of all Puerto Rican children’s homes were damaged by Hurricane María, while 30% feared for their lives or the lives of their loved ones, & around one quarter helped rescue others. It will take time & support for Puerto Rico’s children to fully overcome what they experienced. Mercy Corps

reading helps!

Children can see themselves reflected in the story, which helps them realize that they are not alone and that they are not the first to go through a difficult experience. When caregivers engage children in a book about coping, emotions, or facing a difficult situation, they are helping them learn new ways to talk about their own feelings. — Childcare Aware America
